the chalet is in the small village of le biot, an hour and a quarter's drive from geneva airport or 11 hours drive from london using the eurotunnel. in the village you will find a baker and a cafe bar, but st jean d'aulps is just a 5 minute drive away and has a large carrefour, banks and several restaurants.  the major town of morzine is just 20 minutes drive - it has bars, shops and nightclubs.  lac leman (geneva lake) is 20 minutes away at thonon/evian, and in summer you will find beaches, swimming and boats available there.

airport transfers are easily available, and in the winter public buses/coaches run up to nearby St Jean D'Aulps several times a day.  you will need someone with a car here though, as there are no supermarkets within walking distance and the local public buses are pretty infrequent.
